My passion for mentoring students comes from 25 years in education, teaching middle school language arts & STEM as well as instructional technology at Western Washington University.  I have a deep understanding and compassion for the uniqueness of every student, guiding them through academic challenges while promoting growth and resilience. As a consultant, I leverage those experiences to develop tailored counseling strategies that promote post-secondary readiness. 

My English degree and Career & Technical Education Certification give me a unique appreciation for both traditional liberal arts education as well as apprenticeships, certifications, trade programs, and workforce pathways. UC Irvine’s Independent Educational Consulting Certification program along with professional memberships, conferences, and self-study keep me up-to-date on the fascinating and ever-changing world of college admission trends.

As an educational consultant, I appreciate the opportunity to work with students in a new capacity. Getting to truly know a student — their needs, passions, and worries — keeps me inspired and enthusiastic about what I do.

Families often arrive at this process feeling unsure or overwhelmed. Having gone through the process with my own sons, I understand! My experience with diverse learning styles and personalities have shaped me into a calm, grounded guide for students and parents alike, someone who can bring clarity and steadiness during an exciting but uncertain time.
