About Kristen Schlegel
For most of her adult life, Kristen has found great joy working alongside students, from middle schoolers navigating their first big academic challenges to college students charting their futures. Her years teaching middle school language arts and STEM coupled with her adjunct teaching at Western Washington University, give her a deep understanding and compassion for the uniqueness of every student.
Kristen’s English degree and Career and Technical Education Certification allow her a unique appreciation for both traditional liberal arts education as well as apprenticeships, certifications, trade programs, and workforce pathways.
After helping her own sons with their post-high school planning, Kristen realized guiding students to the path that truly fits was a rewarding and compelling new challenge. She has since been working toward her Independent Educational Consultant Certificate through UC Irvine.
As an educational consultant, Kristen appreciates the opportunity to work with students in a new capacity. Getting to truly know a student - their needs, their passions, their worries - and helping them find a confident path forward keeps her inspired and enthusiastic about what she does.
Families often arrive at this process feeling unsure or even overwhelmed and Kristen understands that. Her years of experience with diverse learning styles and personalities have shaped her into a calm, grounded guide for students and parents alike; someone who can bring clarity and steadiness during an exciting, but uncertain time.
